Mark Adams has been an inspiration and a mentor for me in the two years I have known him. In his book, he provides insightful, to the point information and advice for anyone yearning to take their life to the next level.

I strongly recommend Coach Adams' book, "EnthusiAdams - Developing A Successful Game Plan".

A neglected comic masterpiece that deserves to be rediscovered, "Esther" features an inspired premise as its plot: a young, free-thinking socialite falls desperately in love with an Episcopal minister. The result is a free-for-all clash of intellects, a confrontation between faith and reason, and the inevitable battle of the sexes.

The marvels of Adams's novel are his remarkably nuanced and fully realized characters. Esther, the free-thinker, wants to share her lover's faith and "is trying to get it by reason"--but doesn't initially understand that a person "can never reason yourself into it." Mr. Hazard, the minister, is confident that he will "succeed in drawing her into the fold, because his lifelong faith, that all human energies belonged to the church, was on trial, and, if it broke down in a test so supreme as that of marriage, the blow would go far to prostrate him forever." Esther's principles of independence and self-education collide with Hazard's desire to steer her into submission as his wife and fellow believer.

But my favorite character is relegated to a supporting role: Catherine, a recent transplant from the frontiers of Colorado, befriends Esther and dazzles New York society with her innocence, naivete, and sincerity. It's never really quite clear, however, whether her simplicity is the genuine article or just a show mocking the pretensions of her admirers. As one of the intellectuals who lightheartedly teases her wonders, there was "a little doubt whether she was making fun of him or he of her, and she never left him in perfect security on this point."

The novel sparkles with banter and quarrels, jokes and ripostes, but any attempt to reproduce the humor in a short review would fall flat: Adams's witticisms are dependent upon context and character. Still, I caught myself laughing out loud often at the book's cleverness and hilarity.

The author describes his cemetery adventures throughout the Canadian prairies, and provides lots of color and B/W photos. I especially appreciate the insight he provides on the symbolism found on the grave markers, and their ancient origins.

The book is written more in the form of journal, describing the cemeteries as he moves from town to town, and providing historical insight in between.

As a trained neurologyst it's necessary deal every day whit ethical dilemmas. This book is a helpful resource to consider the many courses of action in problems that comprise enormous consecuences in health or disease, in despair or hope for many patients and their familyes. All chapters are very useful, they can orient you, but no take your dcision or judgement. Is a must book for everybody interested in the field of neurosciences.

We live overseas, and have used this guide for years. When space is limited, this guide is the ONE most valuable resource for finding really fun places to stay. Not the top of the line hotels, not the anonymous Holiday Inn kind of hotel room with no character, these hotels are, for the most part, totally charming. We look for the Michelin red R kind of places; great atmosphere at reasonable prices. We also look for location. This guide spells it out, the good and the bad, the prices and what other guests have found most pleasant and most annoying. It is our absolute first choice in guides to places to stay.

A familiar story that brilliantly tweaks both the eye and the intellect. Edwina Sandys' depiction of Eve in the Garden of Eden is soooo sexy and luscious that she could have gotten Adam to do anything -- even without the lure of the apple.

Magnificant book! The authors have done a tremendous job collecting together a broad but representative array of readings about Eve from three religious traditions. Anyone doing research on the Adam and Eve story, or anyone wanting the background to the naming and valuation of women which has developed from the Adam and Eve story must get this book! Helpful summaries move the reader through the plethora of material, noting important changes and developments in thinking through the centuries. A great text for women's studies, feminist theologies and literary studies.

This book was fabulous! The author's descriptive and elegant writing style made it hard to put down. And, focusing on humans' ever-present (but especially critical nowadays) concern over the blurred line between living beings and "animated" machines, this book is a must-read.

"Even a Flower" captivated and inspired me as I read about the author's spiritual and emotional odyssey from childhood through marriage, fatherhood and beyond. Not only does the author tell the story of his unique journey from traditional to mystical to "far out" religious experiences, he also delivers his inspirational and extremely intelligent ideas about the meaning of the journey. Written in an intensely personal but never overly sentimental style, the book reveals the author's deeply held beliefs as well as his very deeply evolved ideas about spirituality and the meaning of relationship. The depth of these ideas makes for a spiritually and intellectually satisfying book, but despite the seriousness of the author's thoughts, the book is also both touching and funny. Its style is by turns anecdotal and instructive, and filled with tenderness, love, humor, and valuable insights. The subtitle of this book indicates it was written by a lawyer; if you ever had any negative pre-conceptions about what lawyers were like, you will probably change your mind after you read this book, which was clearly written by someone with a huge amount of integrity, sensitivity, and ethics.
